On Your First Visit to Our Practice
Your first two visits with us will take approximately 60 minutes each. You will be greeted at the front desk by the Chiropractic Assistant (CA) and asked to fill out some simple forms. Once those are completed, you will be brought into our consultation/exam room where Dr. Reeve will go over your intake forms, ask follow up questions as necessary, and see if there's anything else needing to be discussed that is not on the forms.
Next Dr. Reeve will conduct a brief, non-invasive physical exam. We find it’s sometimes helpful for patients to wear looser fitting clothing for this, but it's not required. After the exam, if x-rays are indicated, you and he, or the CA, will move to another room to acquire those.
After the x-rays are taken and briefly reviewed, Dr. Reeve will adjust you. If necessary, you may then be escorted back to the exam room table for some simple traction exercise. Then you’ll head back to the front desk where the CA will receive your payment and get you scheduled for your next visit.
Your Second Visit to Our Practice
Your second visit will begin with the doctor’s report of findings (ROF). This doctor’s report can be in a group format or individual report because it can often help your loved ones to know what you've been going through, why, and how they might be able to help you through your healing journey. Dr. Reeve will explain relevant findings on your exam and x-rays, what can be corrected, what it may be causing now or in the future, and also what likely will not change. Also during this ROF, Dr. Reeve will lay out his proposal for your individualized care plan, including visit schedule and any extra modalities that would help your case, expectations of improvement, and what your financial options are. You will also have more opportunities to get answers to any questions that may have come up since your first visit, or up until now during this ROF.
Regular Visits to Our Practice
After the investment of time needed on the first and second visits, many patients become concerned that every visit will be as lengthy. However, one thing we always highly value is people's time. A typical visit may require just a few, highly-focused, minutes, or they may take 30min total depending upon what your case requires. Dr. Reeve will also periodically give you exercises and other things to do outside of our office to help yourself get the most out of your care as possible.
Like regular workouts at the gym, each visit builds on the ones before. So a missed visit can cause you to lose the momentum necessary to make the needed changes. We understand things come up and life happens, but it’s important that you follow your care plan as much as possible to get the best results and the most out of your investment.
