On Your First Visit to Our Practice
Your first two visits with us will take approximately 60 minutes each. You will be greeted at the front desk by the Chiropractic Assistant (CA) and asked to fill out some simple forms. Once those are completed, you will be brought into our consultation/exam room where Dr. Reeve will go over your intake forms, ask follow up questions as necessary, and see if there's anything else needing to be discussed.
Next Dr. Reeve will conduct a brief, non-invasive physical exam. We find it’s sometimes helpful for patients to wear looser fitting clothing for this, but it's not required. After the exam, if x-rays are indicated, you and a staff member, will move to the x-ray suite to acquire them.
After the x-rays are taken, Dr. Reeve will very briefly review them to ensure it's safe to proceed. Once he determines it is safe to proceed, you will receive your first adjustment. If necessary, you may then be escorted back to the exam room table for some simple traction exercise. Please note: We deliver most adjustments in what is known as an "open bay" adjusting area. This means that routine details of your visit could be overheard by other patients and/or staff in the approximate vicinity of where your care is being delivered.
Lastly, you will head back to the front desk where the CA will receive your payment and get you scheduled for your next visit(s).
Your Second Visit to Our Practice
Your second visit will begin with what's commonly referred to as the doctor’s report of findings (ROF). This ROF can be with just the doctor and patient. However patients are encouraged to bring a friend or relative because it can often help your loved ones to know what you've been going through, why, and how they might be able to help you through your healing journey. Dr. Reeve will explain relevant findings on your exam and x-rays, which things can be corrected, what these findings may be causing now or in the future, and what possible outcomes your care may be. Also during this ROF, Dr. Reeve will lay out his proposal for your individualized care plan, including visit schedule and any extra modalities that would help your case, as well as what your financial options are. You will also have more opportunities to get answers to any questions that may have come up since your first visit.
Subsequent Visits to Our Practice
After the investment of time needed on the first and second visits, most appointments afterward should be much shorter barring anything extra such as re-exams, more x-rays, etc. One thing we always highly value is people's time. A typical visit may require just a few, highly-focused, minutes, or they may take 30min depending upon what activities your care requires. Dr. Reeve will also periodically give you exercises and other things to do outside of our office to help yourself get the most out of your investment as possible.
Like regular workouts at the gym, each visit builds on the ones before. Keep in mind a missed visit can cause you to lose the momentum necessary to make the needed changes. We understand things come up and life happens, but it’s important that you follow your care plan as much as possible to get the best results and the most out of your investment. We look forward to meeting you!
